This chassis mounted 1/4" stereo phone jack has two isolated switches inside. The switches are totally isolated from the phone plug connections. Each SPDT switch has a common and a normally closed and normally open set of contacts.
This is a 3 conductor (stereo) closed frame panel mounted jack.The threads are plastic for isolation of the plug sleeve from the chassis, but a wire can be connected from the sleeve terminal to the chassis if desired.
It has a normally closed switch inside that opens when the plug is inserted. Often used for switching audio circuits from internal to external when the plug is inserted.
