The cord consists of a shielded cable with red, yellow white and black (drain) stripped and tinned wires. What part of the plug connects to the shield? If by definition the end of the plug is the tip, the next is the ring, the 3rd is sleeve 1 and the 4th is sleeve 2, then the shield (drain) wire is connected to sleeve 2.
