Monaural PreamplifierMonaural Preamplifier
Philmore DATAKit # 80-980

Our audio amplifier kits work very well, but if your input is a tape head, magnetic phono cartridge, electric mike or guitar, the input level may be too low to do the job.

The solution is to use this preamplifier. This small preamplifier can be used in these applications; plus, a minature microphone is included that can be used with the circuit.

Of course it can be used with other amplifiers that require a preamplifier as well.

Requires 6V to 12V (current at 12V is 3mA, only 2mA at 9V). The gain is more than 40 dB.

Stereo Preamplifier Kit
Philmore DATAKit # 80-104

Amplify any tiny audio signals about fifty times, and deliver them to a power amplifier cleanly and undistorted. An AGC (automatic gain control) eliminates pops and distortion.

This circuit will be useful in boosting the output from the tape heads, microphone or a magnetic phono cartridge etc.. For input of an audio amplifier. Requires a 12V DC power supply at about 100 mA peak.

Stereo Preamplifier Kit

RIAA Equalized Pre-Amplifier Stereo KitRIAA Equalized Pre-Amplifier Stereo Kit
Philmore DATAKit # 80-007

The grooves in phonograph records could not handle the deep bass and high treble in live music, so the industry developed a standard recording curve and the missing sounds were compensated for by circuitry in playback preamplifiers. The R.I.A.A. (Recording Industry Association of America) set the standard for this "RIAA curve".

Today amplifiers are designed for flat response and they make the old phonograph recordings sound very flat. Using an RIAA preamplifier compensates for today's flat amplifiers exactly as the old phonographs were able to do. This kit duplicates the RIAA curve accurately; at a kit price. Operation on 9 to 12 V. DC

Here is how to convert your old vinyl records to your MP3 player: Take the output from your turntable and feed it to this kit, then the feed this equalized analog output into an audio capture device like the model ADS RDX-150-EF (or similar) that converts the equalized analog signal to digital MP3, WAV or WMA. It then sends this digital information to computer's USB port for saving for download to the an MP3 player.

1 Watt Mono Audio Amplifier Kit 1 Watt Mono Audio Amplifier Kit
Philmore DATAKit # 80-270

This a 1 watt monaural amplifier kit. That can boost power to 1 watt of other amplifier kits radios etc.

The board is quite small (1-13/16 square) with the tallest component being 5/8" tall so it's easy to fit into a case (not supplied) with other projects.

You need to supply 3 to 15 volts (six volts being optimum) form a battery or power supply. Designed to drive an 8 ohm speaker.

The picture only shows the PC board which is just 1-13/16" square; tallest component is about 5/8" tall.

8 Watt Mono Audio Amplifier Kit
Philmore DATAKit # 80-470

Low voltage operation does not mean low-power. This amplifier can produce a full eight watts into a standard four or eight ohm "load", such as a speaker. Actually, it can deliver up to 11 watts if you use a 16 volt supply.

You may use this amplifier with a wide range of power supplies, from 5 volts to 20 volts. The IC has a built-in current limiting and over-heating proteation. An ideal building block for use with many projects. The audio quality is excellent.

Small heat sink is included but not shown in picture.

Price:  $19.89

8 Watt Mono Audio Amplifier Kit

18-Watt Mono Audio Amplifier Kit18-Watt Mono Audio Amplifier Kit
Philmore DATAKit # 80-1105

A high quality audio amp that produces 18 Watts into a 4 ohm speaker @ 13.2 volts. Can use 8 ohm speakers and run it at lower voltages as low as 8 volts, with less output wattage.

Uses the Hitachi HA 13001 IC and a dozen external components for a compact and powerful monaural amplifer.

Builder must supply his choice of speaker (4 or 8 ohm) and some heat sink grease to apply between the IC and the heat sink. Includes PC board and all parts. Build two for stereo. Requires external power supply.

Price:  $21.95

1 Watt Stereo Amplifier Kit
Philmore DATAKit # 80-870

An amplifier designed with portability in mind; ideal for battery applications. A full watt from each channel, excellent fidelity. Uses a Samsung KA2209 IC. Small size: the board is 1-3/8" by 2".

All basic parts supplied, including PC board (shown in picture); you supply two 8-ohm speakers. We suggest a six volt or nine volt battery pack using AA cells; use D cells if extra long battery life is required. Amplify your CD or Walkman or that special project etc..

1 Watt Stereo Amplifier Kit

3 Watt Stereo Amplifier Kit 3 Watt Stereo Amplifier Kit
Philmore DATAKit # 80-900

The Rohm BA5406 IC is used to make this powerful little stereo amplifier. The entire circuit is on a 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" circuit board. You’ll need to allow added space of 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" for the heat sink, plus ventilation for same.

In addition to a 12 VDC power supply (batteries), you will need to provide 4 or 8 ohm speakers, cables and heat sink compound to put between the IC and the heat sink.

10 Watt x 10 Watt Stereo Amplifier Kit

44 Watt Stereo Power Amplifier Kit44 Watt Stereo Power Amplifier Kit
Philmore DATAKit # 80-050

The circuit is a gem; The TDA1554 IC is the heart of this amplifier and rated at 22 Watts per channel into 4 Ohm Speakers (typical THD less than 0.1%!). It will also drive two 8 Ohm speakers, but at reduced power.

This amplfier was primarily designed for automotive applications, but can be used in the home if you have a good 5 to 7 Amp DC power supply, like our 48-430.

Operates on 12 -18 Volts DC (typical automobile voltages with engine running), and can draw as much as five amps on the peaks. You can use it with our 90-617-6 cigarette lighter plug with cord and plug it into a car power socket.

The kit does comes with all the parts, heatsink and pc board and instructions. Complete size is 3-5/8" long x 2" 5/8"wide x 2" high. Just add power source and speaker.
